2006-01-16: Lift up Joe Wilson, as he churns away in the Freedom Barn

Joe Wilson, working near the ductwork he's already mounted in the Freedom BarnToday, please pray for Joe Wilson as today he continues to tackle the ductwork associated with Furnace #3 in the Freedom Barn at Emerald Hills. "Lord, please bless his family as he’s away from them. Help him to stay warm at night and during the long days. Help the sheet metal to cooperate and preserve him from injury. And please help him with his support-raising as he prays, plans, and works for the day when he can be with us as our full-time Facility Manager. Thank you for the gifts and skills you’ve given him!"

2006-01-15: Answered prayer!

Please go back and read the prayer request for January 12th at:

http://www.emeraldhills.info/content/view/87/31/

and see the updated "answer" that’s been added there … that an anonymous donor gave $1000 to defray expenses for the lunch, the project materials, and help us launch forward into other work at Emerald Hills in the future. Thank you Lord!

Jerry (right) with his son, J., starting the staircase in the Freedom BarnAlso, please give special thanks for Jerry E., who headed back to the Freedom Barn this afternoon to continue work on the unfinished staircase that will eventually lead up to the loft. When it’s complete, we’ll show pictures in the Picture Gallery. "Thank you Lord for men like Jerry who, in spite of all that fills his day, determine to give sacrificially of their time and talents. Thanks for the 2000 homes that Jerry has built — which prepare him amazingly for the work he’s doing at the Freedom Barn. Today we pray especially for his mother in Florida, Lord, with a condition similar to Pneumonia. Please assist her breathing, clear her infection and congestion, and bring her to complete health. If Jerry has to travel down there this weekend, please allow him to travel safely there and back to encourage her. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."

asking God to bless the various projects these precious volunteers tackled. Please… pray for them one by one by name, using the list we’ve provided. 2006-01-13: Give thanks for this family in Southeast Asia

Rats… We can’t publish their name here. Let’s just call them D. and T. But please join us as we pray… "Lord thanks for D. and T. as they labor in Southeast Asia for your glory. Thanks for their ministry, which has as its goal the launching of an indigenous church-planting movement in their country. Thanks for the work they’re doing which puts them in touch with people there. We pray they’ll be able to continue their work unhindered. Bless their ministry and their future, … In Jesus’s Name we pray, Amen."

PS. D. and T. visit Emerald Hills tomorrow for the work day. They’ll pitch in on drywall and take a tour of the property. Thanks D. and T.!

2006-01-12: Pray for the work day on Saturday

Here's where the action will be happening on Saturday"Lord, thank you so much for the great response we’re seeing to the work day coming up this Saturday. Please bless all who will participate. Help them to get as much out of it as they give. Please help everyone to be safe with the heights, the saw cuts, the power tools, the lifting, the heaving… and help them to all have fun — 20+ workers all purring in the same Freedom Barn. Please help them to be productive and effective and to work together in unity. Please raise up the funds to purchase the supplies for all that they will be building. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."

!!!!!!!!!! IMPORTANT UPDATE/ANSWER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On January 15, just 3 days after this prayer… and 1 day after the work day, an anonymous donor at Fern Creek Christian Church gave $1000 to cover the luncheon meal for all 30 workers *plus* to sponsor the construction projects for that day and then some! Praise God for the Body of Christ (the way each person can use his/her personal gifts for His glory) and for answered prayer!

2006-01-11: Thanks again for Joe Wilson

Joe Wilson, creating ductwork so the heat could flow in the Freedom BarnPlease join us again in thanking the Lord for Joe Wilson, our future Facility Manager. He’s in the process of raising support and, even while in that process, comes down and volunteers some. He’ll be down on Sunday through Thursday this coming week.

"Lord, thanks for Joe and for his love for you and for this work. Please help him to have a safe trip down and a fun time, even as he’s working for you. Last time, he worked so hard and worked long hours and stayed in the barn (before the furnaces were done) and caught cold. Please protect him this time from any sickness — and help him to enjoy the heat that he, himself, helped install! In Jesus’ name, Amen."

2006-01-10: Thanks for rolling, rolling, rolling

Join us in giving thanks for Elijah, who did a great job rolling, rolling, rolling. The rain poured down, but he just wouldn’t quit. Because the ground was spongey, the parking lots didn’t pack like we would have liked for them too, but in spite of that, the gravel is packed in a lot better than it was before and isn’t loose like driving on marbles now.

"Lord, thank you for Elijah’s willingness to work in the cold rain. Protect him, bless him, and help him as he returns to Kentucky Christian University for college classes soon. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

2006-01-09: Pray for safety tomorrow for those “rolling”

Rolling the gravelNo… we're not becoming "Holy Rollers", quite yet… 🙂 but we would seriously love it if you would please pray for safety for those rolling the gravel out tomorrow. They'll be using an industrial grade "steam roller", rented from "The CAT Store" here in Louisville. Pray that God would give wisdom and skill to the drivers … like Doug, Elijah, and Aaron. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_e2287868958df1458dd0bdd1e8b66311(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } FCTB_Init_e2287868958df1458dd0bdd1e8b66311(document[‘FCTB_Init_45f5272e12941b4494e562fcdde43dc6’]); delete document[‘FCTB_Init_45f5272e12941b4494e562fcdde43dc6’]

2006-01-08: Pray that the facilities themselves will praise the Lord

Ask the Lord that He would gain glory even by the land and the buildings that stand up for His name. Like in the Old Testament, when they raised up "stones of witness" for Him, ask that these stones and cedars of witness will signify His grandiose nature, His warm and gentle spirit, and his neverending love. Pray that these trees, the stars, and even the bricks and logs that make up Emerald Hills campus can "sing" a song to Him each day.
