2008-02-21: Praise the Lord for #18!

Give thanks to God for our 18th "29" partner, a one-time gift in the works for $25,000 from an anonymous donor, grateful to God. The name of the shelter will be, simply, "Emmanuel Prayer Shelter."

I have no way of knowing how or why the donor selected the name for the shelter, but I do know that I heard Mercy Me's "God with Us" (that's what Emmanuel means, right?) on the radio yesterday morning.  The lyrics to that song express to me the heart of God in sending His Son, Emmanuel, to redeem the nations.  I can hardly wait to spend time at that shelter expressing gratitude to God for the sacrifice of His Son to redeem all of mankind.

Thank You, thank You, thank You, Jesus!
