2017-08-05: Families Serving Together.
Praise God for families serving together to make the name of Christ known among people who do not know His story. Pray that Third Culture Kids are always kind to each other and to everyone around them (1 Thes 5:15).
2017-08-04: Love Your Neighbor.
Pray that Third Culture Kids would love their neighbor (Luke 10:27), even when their neighbor looks, acts, and dresses differently than they. Pray that they will see their neighbors/friends as God sees them and be able to show and share God’s love with them in safe and appropriate ways.
2017-08-03: Biblical Self-Esteem.
Biblical self-esteem is an important virtue for TCKs to have to combat the devil’s lies. Pray that TCKs develop a strong self-identity that is rooted in the realization that they are God’s workmanship, created in Christ (Ephesians 2:10).
2017-08-02: Third Culture Kids.
You might wonder, “What is a Third Culture Kid?”
The answer is seen in a child who is born in one culture/country, i.e. the USA and lives with their family in an adopted culture/country, i.e. Serbia. The child is both American and Serbian, yet neither one. The child may look American but be unfamiliar with US culture. The child has adapted to the Balkans and calls it home, lives and speaks like a Serb, yet has US passport. This child belongs to a third culture, a mixture of two cultures. However, it goes much deeper than passports and visas. There are the emotional, spiritual, physical, and intellectual ingredients to add to a child’s culture. Pray that every Team Expansion Third Culture Kid would find identity in Christ and boldly live for Him.
2017-08-01: Cross-Cultural Workers.
Team Expansion has over 300 cross-cultural workers serving world wide. Some of our workers are single, some are empty-nesters, but the majority are families with at least 260 children among them! Praise God for sending families to serve and minister to families of other nationalities. Pray for the family unit to be preserved for most effective witness to unbelievers.
2017-07-31: Christ’s Work and Word Protects Believers.
Remember that Christ’s work and Word protects believers. Revelation 12:11 says, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Praise God for strategically placing Team Expansion workers around the globe. Pray that workers rely on the work and Word of Christ to overcome barriers and challenges they face. Pray they do not shrink back but overcome!
2017-07-30: Proverbs 29:25.
Proverbs 29:25, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.” Harvest workers come up against many spiritual attacks. Pray God’s Presence protects Team Expansion workers and their families from growing anxiety or fear and that they are all kept safe in trusting the LORD.
2017-07-28: Psalm 18:35.
Psalm 18:35 says, “You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.” Buddhism is a hard nut to crack. Pray for victory and endurance from the Father’s Presence with Team Expansion harvest workers among those who follow this ancient counterfeit religion.
2017-07-27: Isaiah 41:10.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Praise God that He is moving among the Muslim world. Those who used to follow Islam are now turning to follow Jesus Christ! Pray for Team Expansion workers to draw their strength and help from Jesus as they engage Muslims on a daily basis.
