2015-05-24: Global Day of Prayer

Today is Global Day of Prayer (www.globaldayofprayer.com), a day of repentance and united prayer.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place” Acts 2:1. United by a prayer for the world, Christians from all over the world, from different cultures and denominations, from many diverse streams will gather in their homes, or where appropriate, assemble in stadiums, public auditoriums and open squares and devote portions of their Sunday morning service to united prayer. Pray WITH the world as you pray FOR the world.

2015-05-23: Equip Christians.

Christians have generally proven ineffective in communicating the Gospel in a relevant way to secular, post-modern culture. Christians are often ridiculed and seen as old fashioned. Pray that God would equip Christians with knowledge and effective strategies to share the Truth with the unreligious bloc.

2015-05-22: Hindus.

The majority of Hindus live in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Due to the caste system, reaching higher castes are extremely difficult. While evangelism among lower castes can be successful, pray for more opportunities to reach the higher castes

2015-05-21: Tribal Religions.

Tribal or ethnic religions can be found in almost every country. They usually have a unique language and often do not have a Bible in the language of the people. Many live in isolated and remote places making it hard to reach them physically. Pray for more Bible translators.

2015-05-20: Compassion for the Lost.

“How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14). Praise God for His compassion for the lost and His patience with His servants striving to take His Message to those who don’t believe because they haven’t heard. Pray that Team Expansion prays relentlessly, works diligently, and engages the global church in finishing the task of the Great Commission.

2015-05-19: Sikhs.

Some 30 million people are Sikhs. The basis of the Sikh religion is the union of soul with God, disciplining their thoughts and actions so that the 5 obstacles – lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego – are dispelled. Sikhs believe that the cycle of reincarnation is escaped by this union. Pray for workers among the Sikhs. Pray for God to ready hearts and minds of Sikhs to hear and understand the Gospel. Pray that Sikhs who choose to follow Jesus will be courageous no matter what.

2015-05-18: Kairos Course.

Another Kairos Course is taking place on the campus of Emerald Hills May18-22. It is so beautiful to see God’s people stepping up to tell the world how loved it is. Keep praying for the growth and effectiveness of this Kairos course.

2015-05-17: People Adhering to Buddhism.

There are approximately 272 million people adhering to Buddhism. Buddhists follow a path of discipline in order to reach enlightenment. Often there is no conception of a god at all. Praise God that He has the power to break through with His Light. Pray that people turning away from Buddhism and embracing Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord will be bold and daring to follow Jesus and share Him with others.

2015-05-16: Followers of Islam.

There are about 1.18 billion followers of Islam in our world. Ask God to prepare hearts and minds to be able to hear and understand the Truth of God’s Word. Pray that people coming out of Islam to follow Jesus will have courage to live for Him no matter what the cost.

2015-05-15: Give Thanks to God.

Give thanks to God for the power of His message as the Gospel spreads into areas where people have no hope, claim no religion, and previously had not heard about Jesus. Pray that followers of Christ coming out of the unreligious bloc will have tenacity to walk out their faith wholeheartedly.
