One last stanza of a hymn byf Isaac Watts and William Croft says, “Our God our help in ages past our hope for years to come Be Thou our guard while troubles last and our eternal home.” Praise God for that hope of an everlasting future with Him.. Ask God to enable Team Expansion workers to make disciples who make disciples who make more disciples who thrive on that hope in Christ Jesus
2017-01-06: Unreached People Groups.
Another verse of the Isaac Watts song gives witness to the 6,900 unreached people groups around the world. “The busy tribes of flesh and blood with all their lives and cares are carried downwards by the flood and lost in following years.” That is why Team Expansion is in the business of disciple making. Praise God for His patience as He does not want anyone to perish. Pray that by God’s grace, Team Expansion moves forward into unreached peoples with the Gospel where lives may be redeemed and rescued instead of being swept away by the flood of false religions or no religion at all.
2017-01-05: Something Different.
Time means something different to God than to humans. Sir Isaac Watts writes this verse, “A thousand ages in Thy sight are like an evening gone. Short as the watch that ends the night before the rising sun.” Praise God that He is in control and Sovereign. Pray that Team Expansion will wait on the Lord’s timing and His Holy Spirit to start 24 disciple making movements among unreached peoples.
2017-01-03: The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.
A third verse of Watts’ hymn says, “Before the hills in order stood or earth received her frame, from everlasting Thou art God to endless years the same.” Jesus, you are the same, yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8), and we praise you for your faithfulness. You have always been, you always are, and you always will be. You are the First and Last. You never change. Jesus, you are worthy of praise for creating and sustaining, not only the universe, but also for your faithfulness in providing the needs of Team Expansion from moment to moment, day to day, year to year.
2017-01-02: Give Praise to God.
Sir Issac Watts penned “Under the shadow of Thy throne Thy saints have dwelt secure. Sufficient is Thine arm alone and our defense is sure.” Give praise to God for raising up over 300 workers serving with Team Expansion, for sheltering and keeping them secure in Him while spreading the Gospel in places where it is not welcomed.
2017-01-01: Our Help in Ages Past.
As a new year dawns, a tune by Isaac Watts and William Croft seems appropriate to praise God for who He is. “O God our help in ages past, our hope of years to come. Our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home” Give praise for initiating that prayer meeting among mission students way back in 1978 that birthed the beginning of Team Expansion. Give Him the honor due for His help to establish a mission organization that strives to expand His Kingdom among unreached peoples.
2016-12-31: Praise God.
Praise God for what He has accomplished through Team Expansion in 2016. Pray that in 2017 God would begin/continue movements of disciples making disciples and churches planting churches among unreached people groups.
2016-12-29: Salvation.
“For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all peoples, a light for the revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.” (Luke 2:30-32) Team Expansion workers serving in Asia are shining the light into the darkness of Hinduism. Pray for strategy, receptivity, and abundant fruit.
2016-12-28: Relationships.
Praise God for the relationships being built between Taiwanese children and Team Expansion workers. Pray for the Taiwan team’s outreaches in the local schools. Pray that students will hear the Truth and choose to allow that Truth to change their lives. Also pray for strategy on how to connect more with students outside of school.
