Give thanks to God for raising up new team leaders and visionaries to make disciples among the unreached. Pray that this Team Leader Training (Nov 12-16) will equip new leaders and spur current team leaders with strategy, tools and encouragement to multiply disciples and churches where God has called them to serve.
2017-11-12: Team Leader Training.
Team Leader Training (Nov 12-16) is an essential element of training of Team Expansion . Give thanks to God for the opportunity He has provided for over 20 team leaders to take time away from family and field to attend. Pray for minimal to no effects of jetlag for team leaders so concentration and stamina levels are high to participate in training.
2017-11-11: Separated and Beaten by Neighbors.
M and S, sisters from a Hindu background who decided to follow Jesus, were separated and beaten by neighbors, dragged to edge of town and left for dead. The sisters survived and found each other, refusing to give up their faith. They now live in a different village and run a small stationary shop to support themselves. Pray that their testimony draws people to know Jesus and that their witness impacts their community.
2017-11-10: Intimidation, Prison, and Death.
One in twelve believers around the world endures intimidation, prison, or even death for following Jesus. Women and girls are on the front line of persecution. In many parts of the world, females already face discrimination because of their gender. Being a follower of Jesus creates double vulnerability. Ask God to provide the daily needs of these women. Pray for persistent faith and that they would not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time they will reap a harvest if they do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
2017-11-09: Give Thanks.
Give thanks for an opportunity to participate in the Global Mission Health Conference at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY Nov. 9-11. Pray that God connects Christian workers with ministries around the world for the purpose of making His name famous among the nations.
2017-11-08: Outcasts.
In a North African country, believers feel like outcasts in a largely Muslim society. They seek community but often at the cost of their lives. Pray for believers gripped by fear of growing extremism in their country to have confidence in and trust Jesus. Pray for Christian youth who are opposed and persecuted for rejecting Islam to stand firm for the cause of Christ.
2017-11-07: Persecution.
One of several ways to keep an eye on persecution is through the World Watch List at www.opendoorsusa.org/christian-persectuion/world-watch-list/ . Sudan has been on the World Watch list since 1993. Persecution is systematic and reminiscent of ethnic cleansing. The ethnic cultural landscape is complicated and divisive: Arab vs Africans, Muslim vs Christian. Islam is deeply embedded in society, and government strictly implements a one-religion, one culture and one language policy, resulting in persecution of Christians. Pray for Sudanese Christians who risk all for the sake of the Gospel, evangelizing and preaching to those around them in spite of peril. Pray for Christians
2018-11-06: Militant Movements.
Militant movements in surrounding countries have serious impact on Tanzanian government and believers undergo resentment and prejudice. Pray for Christians in Tanzania to endure and conquer. “We are human, but we don’t wage war with human plans and methods. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the devil’s strongholds. With these weapons we break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God. With these weapons we conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ” 2 Cor 10:3-5.
2017-11-05: Authority and Instructions.
Jesus gives His disciples authority and instructions when sending them out (Matthew 10:16).
“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” Many Team Expansion workers serve among unreached nations. Ask God to equip workers to be faithful, creative, and wise as they share the Good News.
2017-11-04: Those Who Are Persecuted Because of Righteousness.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 5:10). Intercede for believers who will suffer when they tell their families they are followers of Jesus. Pray that they would be courageous, committed, and encouraged. Pray that entire families would know Truth and stand together in Christ.
